At first, I had reservations taking online courses. After the first semester I quickly realized that the work load is equally, if not more, than other educational institutions. I found the online format to be more user friendly and worked well with my schedule. Some courses allowed me to complete assignments slightly ahead of time; while others preferred not. I was frustrated, at first, to have to do so many papers in APA format and with peer reviewed citations (this was also required for discussions... Read More and responses); however, when it was all said and done I quickly realized how much I had advanced in my writing. I actually became excited to obtain peer reviewed sources. Anyhow, I completed 24 hours in Business courses with 15 in Accounting and 21 hours in Social Sciences. I preferred their use of online books and modules that had a homework functionality (regardless if the score counted or not it was very helpful in keeping the information fresh in my mind). Having this technology allowed me to access my books and online course materials via laptop/desktop/cell phone/iTunes, etc. I took advantage of every possible source so that I could continue to work full-time and take care of my family. I feel very fortunate that all of my professors responded to me within 24-48 business hours and for the 2 that didn't; I honestly dropped those courses. I didn't have any time to waste and most certainly wouldn't. Overall, my experience was tedious, arduous and worth it every step of the way!!

Liberty is a great online school to attend. I was not sure when I started, but it has proved to be great. I have visited the campus, and it is absolutely amazing. I really want my boys to go to school here on campus. It is so refreshing to have a Christian perspective in the college setting. It's a little tough, but you feel good for the accomplishment. I would SO recommend Liberty U Online.

I had to drop my classes in fall semester because my workload at home was too much with classes because of a situation at work. When I went to re enroll for the spring term I was told my aid had been suspended I would have to appeal, I went through an appeal and it was denied because work wasn't a good enough reason. I am a single mother to a four year old and my work load had increased due to losing our General Manager, I had to step in to do GM work and take care of my four year old obviously this... Read More school wants to be your number one focus so if you are a working adult with children don't chose here. They treated me like crap and would let me talk to anyone to fix the situation it all had to be handled through email, and very impersonal I was very disappointed. Not to mention all the classes I took only focused on the Godly aspect of everything I never actually learned anything.

Liberty University is a good school for transfer students and for those looking to attend a good Christian University. The professors are responsive and all of the support given by the university, be it technical, financial, or administrative, is really good. Saying all of that, would I recommend Liberty University? However, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't prepared to be taught principles of Christianity in every single class and subject. Although I'm a Christian, I wasn't prepared for it and struggled to accept some of the content presented. I fully expected Christian content in the requisite biblical and theological courses but not in every course. For example, the English and Natural Sciences classes that I took contained much Christian content and the studies and assignments didn't leave any room at all for personal opinion or critical thought. As I said, if expected, it wouldn't have been too much of an issue for me and I'm sure won't be an issue for anyone else. However, although a Christian, I wasn't expecting it and was hoping for an opportunity to learn more about the non-Christian subject courses and to be able to apply more critical thinking in those particular subjects. Overall, it's a good university but you have to know what to expect in order to have a good learning experience.
