While I certainly had a lot of great professors and learned a lot, my enrollment counselors were almost completely useless. I had to navigate a lot of choosing appropriate classes myself, and often found them making mistakes and rushing in their recommendations for classes. My questions often felt pushed aside. Like I mentioned, I found the classes and professors to be for the most part very informative, but now that I’m in the “real world” working in my field I believe the curriculum could be modified... I really enjoyed my time at Kutztown university. From the campus life to class work, there was always something different to do every day. As a part of the psychology program, i did wish that they had more hands on experience to teach us, rather than just using textbooks.

For me, attending Kutztown University was a mixed experience. I was not accepted into any other universities despite applying, and the credits I earned in community college did not transfer over, meaning I had to take classes I'd already taken over the course of two years. The campus had a lot of events and activities to partake in. I enjoyed walking around outside each day. The classes I took were also educational, helping me to major in communication design, a subset of graphic design. However,... Read More

The Masters of Arts in Education program is designed for individuals who have obtained a Bachelor's degree not in education but who wish to move their career towards education. This program covers aspects of PreK through 4th grade learning. The various subjects taught helped me to become a 21st century teacher that was marketable and experienced. The professors were engaging, knowledgeable, and caring. They also valued our success as students. I felt as thought professors took a personal approach... Read More

Kutztown University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program has helped me advance in the field and I have had some really great professors. With any school, it is obvious which professors are passionate about teaching and there for students, while others are not as dedicated. The program seems to be in transition with faculty members which should help with miscommunication and disorganization between faculty and students. I am in my second year and I have already been published, have presented... Read More

Unique environment for students to learn, major classes have small class sizes while general education classes can be much larger. Dining is undergoing a huge renovation this year from what I've seen. Most majors are extremely good, including mine, would recommend if you're looking for a more affordable school.

The teaching method, the technology, access to internet and equipped library. My professors are approachable and you can ask questions. It is not like this from my country. We do not have all these technologies they have in the United States and good libraries like the one here. That makes study easier and enjoyable. The environment is welcoming and relaxing. Also we are few in my class. That makes it much easier to for the professor to get to know each student individually.

The electronic media program is awesome, you can start taking major classes immediately. Many of the required classes are hands on. Post Production, Field Production, Studio Production, Audio Production, Lighting, Event and Doc to name a few. The department has a full mac editing lab with both Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe CS6 Master Collection. They have a fully equipped studio, with 3 cameras, teleprompter, grass valley switcher, multi-viewer, large green screen, and full wall black on track full studio... Read More

The professors that have instructed me were fantastic in the science department at Kutztown. I have had many issues with financial aid and also I do not believe the other departments run as smoothly as the science department.

I feel like the Professors are very intelligent and know what they're talking about. They make the material easy for you to understand yet difficult enough to give you a challenge. Most of the professors get back to you right away if you have any problems, but some take half the semester to post any grades or they will take a week or two to even email you back which is unacceptable.

Pros: Kutztown has an amazing faculty that are engaging and create a classroom culture cohesive to learning and engagement. I would never consider another school after attending classes here. Cons: Financial aid is challenging to find for graduate school as well as grants for these programs. They require a commitment to work for a low income school district for a number of years, which is almost the only option for educators at this time. However, I want to teach at the college level.
