Degree: Biology

My classes at Kansas State University were a very mixed bag. Overall they were good and gave me a good foundation, but some classes had bad professors or messy curriculums. There are many programs to help students, from a food bank to job fairs to interview prep. But career help for alumni is lacking.

I had the pleasure of spending both my undergraduate and graduate experience at KSU. With my department/program being smaller in quality, I do believe it made me a better clinician now that I am a professional in the field. I was able to have one-on-one opportunities and supports from my professors. The campus and community itself is also what made my time there so great. Truly a family atmosphere!

Degree: Aviation

I think that Kansas State University has a really good program for aviation. They have a separate campus for the aviation students, along with a few other majors like engineering, which allows for a smaller community. I knew most of my classmates and fellow students which made it a lot easier to make friends, find a support network, and feel at home. I would recommend it to anyone

Degree: Communications

Kansas State University embodies the concept of "family" through its high priority for all types of students, a variety of inclusive groups to identify with, and a sense of purple pride and connection that you will feel for a lifetime. K-State welcomes all with open arms and ensures student success and well-being.

This program is a great one to be in if you know that you want to work with kids but you are not sure you want to dive into teaching right away. You are able to learn the psychology behind a child's brain, to the way that the aging process takes a toll on the mind. The teachers and staff are very supportive and open to any and all questions that students have. I would recommend looking online at the descriptions that the classes and staff have as you can form your experience with HDFS any way that... Read More

I all-around enjoyed my experience studying at Kansas State University. My professors went above and beyond to help me in any way that they could. The student body is very friendly and helpful. It is easy to make new friends in class. Even after graduating, I can still email my professors with any questions.

Degree: Environmental Science

Kansas State University is an amazing college, but the Park Management and Conservation degree program was not beneficial to my future. Jobs in the field are limited. The prospect of a future career in parks and recreation is glorified while in school, but the only real opportunities after college are typically in the maintenance field. Id recommend a wildlife biology degree instead to those interested in the outdoor field.

The second I stepped foot on campus at Kansas State University, I instantly knew that I wanted to attend and pursue my education here--it just felt like home. At Kansas State you will hear a lot about how we are "family" and it is hard to understand until you actually are immersed in it. Being a university with around 24,000 students, it seems small and feels like a community. The campus is all within close proximity and you can get from one side of campus to the other within 10 minutes. Placed in... Read More

Degree: Veterinary Science

Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine is a wonderful graduate program. It offers essential core classes in all areas of veterinary interest, including exotics, which not every veterinary school does. It offers a multitude of hands-on opportunities for students to get involved both on and off-campus, hosts guest speakers and club events, and has many varied electives to choose from. While it is one of the more expensive veterinary colleges to attend, the quality of education you... Read More

Like most large state universities, general education classes and introductory classes for your major of choice tend to take place in large lecture halls and little to no one-on-one attention. Kansas State University is no different. However, the teachers of these classes try to mediate this issue with recitations which give you a much better experience. From there, when you get into your major-specific classes, the experience is greatly improves. This is where I believe Kansas State University shines.... Read More

I graduated from Kansas State University in 2017 with a double major, a double minor, and I graduated with honors. I also studied abroad three times. I was able to do so much in four years because of the excellent staff of professors and advisers. K-State is very cost efficient and the faculty genuinely care about each individual's success during and after graduation. Many of my advisors kept in contact with me even after I moved out of state.

Kansas State University Academic Advising Graduate Certificate: I completed this 15 credit program online from Jan 2015 - Dec 2015. I was already working in higher education in registration and enrollments but wanted to advance my career and move into academic advising. Because my educational journey for both my bachelors and masters had not yet included academic advising or education related classes, I felt this Kstate program would be ideal to provide me with the right concentration of knowledge... College is what you make of it. If you take classes that are interesting to you and pay attention in them, you will learn so much; not just about your chosen area, but also about yourself. College is a chance to find out how you fit into a broader context.

I absolutely loved attending Kansas State University, and particularly the Department of Psychology. This school has prepared me to begin a clinical psychology master's program in the Fall. Many classes are rigorous, but it is well worth it in the end. The knowledge and experiences I've gained from Kansas State University are truly irreplaceable. As well as receiving a bachelor's in psychology, I will also be receiving a degree in criminology. This university made it so easy and enjoyable to complete... Read More

The Early Childhood Education Program at Kansas State University is an excellent Master's and teacher licensure program. The program offers instruction in child development, curriculum, educational philosophy, working with families, inclusion, home visiting, and home-school partnerships, as well as multiple practicum and lab opportunities with each age level within early childhood. Teaching faculty and instructors are all very knowledgeable in their field and very supportive of students.

Kansas State is certainly an awesome school, I registered for classes when I found out my husband would be stationed at Fort Riley. The admission guidance counselor quickly set me up with the requirements I needed to complete my degree. The coursework was certainly time consuming and rigorous but it was time well spent. After I graduated I received a pet-time job with the school as... Read More
