I completed the hybrid accelerated nursing program at ISU, and I enjoyed the school. The campus is lovely, but the program was a little rough. The nursing program in general is great, but the hybrid format isn't for everyone. For being a college town, Terre Haute has very little to offer students, so staying on campus for all your activities is your best bet.

Indiana State University was a really good choice for me overall. It’s a good size school - small enough that it feels manageable and not overwhelming, but big enough that you don’t feel like you know everyone. You still meet new people and have your own space, which I liked a lot.
The classes are one of the best parts. Most of my classes were pretty personable, and it was easy to talk to professors and actually ask questions. I never felt like just a number sitting in a huge lecture hall. Professors... Read More
Indiana State also has a good selection of majors, so it’s easy to find something that fits what you’re interested in without feeling limited. There are also a lot of study abroad opportunities, which I think is a big plus. It’s nice that those programs are actually encouraged and accessible, not just something a few students end up doing. My study abroad experience was the highlight of my education.
Socially, there’s plenty going on if you want it. There are organizations, events, and ways to meet people, but it’s also fine if you’re not super into the party scene. You can choose your own level of involvement. On top of that, there are a lot of campus job opportunities, which made it easier to work while going to school and stay involved on campus.
Overall, Indiana State offers a balanced college experience. It’s supportive, flexible, affordable, and gives students a lot of opportunities without feeling overwhelming.

Indiana State is a great school for value. The environment is welcoming and the school truly wants the students to succeed. Campus and the surrounding area is nice. Athletics are great and the facilities are exceptional for a school of this size. You can graduate early if you come in with credits.

My experience at my college university was the best decision I made for myself! Especially going away to college makes such a difference. You learn who you are without your parents or the comfortable environment you were in. Indiana State University became my home away from home. The professionals there were so helpful but at times you had to take the bad with the good with some individuals. Just like any other college. When I found out I wanted to major in Recreational Therapy I was welcomed right... Read More

The program was built to revolve around the working. I really liked how the professors seemed to be understanding and always try and work with students when life happened. I learned a lot from the project based courses that gave me the skills I needed to get a job quickly and move up with a series of promotions. Would recommend this program if you want career advancement at a reasonable price .

The program was taught with a small group of students. No classes were larger than 15. They had just started to introduced the hybrid model with online courses. The material was lectured extremely well over all the course subjects. Students online had the option to participate in class and ask questions about the material, the professors were extremely responsive to emails and help connect with other graduate students to study and work together on projects. The tuition rate was pretty sure and allowed... Read More

I completed the piano performance degree at Indiana Statue University initially when I went to college. I attended based on scholarship from a piano audition. Music was a field that I excelled in naturally for music theory and skills. I was not interested in music history and found that coarse work for this degree became mostly studies of the history of music as I entered the end of my bachelors degree and prepared for graduate studies in Piano Performance as a major. I am glad that I completed the... Read More

Indiana University is an amazing college that provided me with an extensive and stellar undergraduate learning experience. The School of Education was my second home and the faculty were as warm as family. I am a proud alumni as Indiana University deserves the high merits that it is given. Graduates from the School of Education are sought out across the country and are well received as applicants. There are so many opportunities for support for students that are focused and committed.

I don't know about the other programs, but getting someone from the Education department to respond is difficult at best. I've reached out with a number of questions, trying to discern whether or not their program would be a good fit. I had basic questions, like how arrangements are handled for the required monthly visits to campus, what type of workload to expect since I'm also working full-time, and other usual questions. I have called and I have emailed. I got on the canned email list that just... Read More

Indiana State University provided ample opportunities for me to learn from professors in my field. I liked that several of my professors were creative and innovative in their approach to teaching. Many professors I learned from had published books in my field and were well respected locally and nationally. The criminology program was beneficial to my career goals and having a minor in psychology assisted me in finding and keeping employment in the mental health field over the last 20 years. I am... Indiana State University is often a school for young, local students from Indiana. Although I was from Indiana, I was not as young as my classmates. In fact, I didn't attend Indiana State University until I was 26. Because of this, I did not have the "traditional" college experience as many young adults do who come directly from high school. With that being said, I have nothing negative to say about my experience there. I was initially guided appropriately by my counselor. My degree plan was clear... Read More

I went to Indiana State University occupational safety management online for three weeks. Thats right -- three weeks! Booth of the classes I had asked me to do things I had never heard of, was not in the 100+ page reading assignments, not in the hour long online lectures, so I bounced. This program may be good for on-campus students but the online side is a joke. Dont be fooled, go somewhere else

Indiana State University is a great place to attend school. It is a medium sized University with voluminous opportunities for personal and professional growth. ISU has grown and changed a great deal since I attended, only getting better. They offer Greek life, on and off campus housing, cultural events at no to minimal charge, fabulous homecoming events, work study, scholarship opportunities, just to name a few. If you desire a place to be where they get to know you and have many offerings to assist... Read More

Indiana State University has an excellent RN to BSN program academically . I had always felt that I was a mediocre writer at best. After completing ISU's nursing program I felt that my writing skills had improved immensely. I also have a better understanding of APA format. The discussion board posting assignments allow students to interact and give constructive feed back. These assignments help alleviate the disconnected feeling you can sometimes get while completing an on-line program. This program... Read More

The Masters program was small, so the student teacher ratio was excellent. You also got to know the other students well over the course of the program. There wasn't much to do in Terre Haute other than study, which made it great for academics.

The Graduate advisor and Director work one on one with me while planning my academic goals and are encouraging every step of the way.
