Immaculata University

Overall, the campus and the people were ok. The pre-nursing classes I took for the ABSN program were good and challenging and the instructors were ok-no real complaints there. One of the sisters was rude. Some students in my genetics lab class group were very rude one day which I had to report and it was quickly corrected. But the communication was very poor from the nursing department. I made it clear to the clinical coordinator that I was unable to get a flu shot and she gave me the impression,... Read More based on the response from her email, that it was fine and that “some sites require the flu shot and others do not.” She in no way communicated to me that due to a flu shot, I would not a clinical placement (which is required for graduation) and would not be successful in the program just because of that. Instead, she strung me along for so many weeks saying that she was working on getting me placed, giving me hope that I would get a placement. Finally, after no response from her even two days before the semester was to start, I sent her email and said that if I did not hear back from her by Thursday 12pm, I could safely assume that she does not have a clinical site for me. She never responded to my email so I dropped all my classes and withdrew from the University and will never return there. I didn’t want waste any more money.

I am writing this review to warn others who may be considering the nursing program at Immaculata University in Malvern, PA to know that they will NOT be successful in any nursing program if they do not get a Covid shot and flu shot.

I liked immaculata when I first began taking classes there. Unfortunately the communication with professors and other administrators was severely lacking . The worst part however, was the financial aid office. I was told I could pay off my tuition balance (no idea why I had one) in installments. I contacted the office multiple times and would not receive any help. When a person did get back to me many weeks later they told me I have never called or emailed anyone and they sent my account to collections.... Read More Literally held up my entire education. They were of 0 help and do not attempt to work with me . I transferred to another school shortly after and was amazed at how helpful that financial aid office was. I was never offered any of the grants I was eligible for through immaculata they insisted I pay out pocket. There’s a Catholic institution for you.

Immaculata University is a dedicated to the success of their students. The professors are supportive, kind, and willing to give extra time for a student's success. They curriculum includes teaching students how to work with families, different ethnicities, homosexuals, drug addictions, trauma, crisis, suicide, anxiety and mood disorders. I think that Immaculata is a awesome school that is dedicated not only to the student population but makes an impact on the world through their professors because they do empirical research.

After receiving my bachelors degree in Psychology I realized I wanted to pursue a degree in Music therapy. However, I had minimal music skills and had difficulty finding a school that offered everything I needed. The university itself offers reasonable tuition and faculty are always willing to lend a helping hand. Immaculata University offered an accelerated BSN program to nurses who wanted to move forward in their profession and still maintain a balanced family life. The admission staff visited job sites for recruitment and assistance with the enrollment process. The program considered work experience as part of the credit requirements and offered multiple scholarship opportunities. The satellite campus was also convenient to my home and place of employment.
