Howard is an amazing school. My experience there was one of most joy, but also one of also constant work. I love Howard deeply and will always recommend someone to attend, particularly if they want to major in computer science. Howard's department of computer science is one that is constantly evolving and growing in an effort to better equip the students with the needed skills and mindset to succeed in any aspect of computer science. Howard has various connections with major companies such as google... Read More which allows them to offer various programs like such as GIR, googler in residence (a google employee comes and teaches a class or two at Howard), and Howard West (a chance for Howard students to go and take classes at google's headquarters in California for a semester). Howard's computer science students have also gained a reputation of doing extremely well in their internships causing them to be highly sought after for full-time employment. I know a number of students who have gone to work at top companies like Twitter, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and more. Howard Is the place to be.

My experience at Howard University was nothing short of amazing. It was on that campus that I got to truly learn who I was. I met some of my best friends who will undoubtedly be in my life for a very long time. My classmates are some of the most extraordinary people I have ever met and each of them has gone on to do some amazing things. Howard University, also known as, The Mecca, is responsible for some of the greatest Black minds that have contributed to modern society nationally, and internationally. Read More success as well as adversity. As any student's experience at any institution would be. Though I learned a great deal of life lessons and practical skills that are integral to my individual success as a working actor, I would be lying if I said the school was everything I wanted and needed it to be. The students in my department kept me at the university. The professors in the program varied in impact and experience, but overall, they all had something for me that made me better. Although we are graduating with BFA's, the training is not equivalent to that of any other conservatory program. The facilities are lackluster and very dated, our Theatre Arts Department is in dire need of a renovation, but a lot of this is not their fault. Quite honestly, the division of fine arts does not receive the necessary funding and support that it deserves from the University, therefore a lot of things are lacking in terms of quality. Just this year has the current president of the University decided to make strides towards reinstating the College of Fine Arts, which will hopefully provide the program with the necessary budget and support its been lacking since it merged with the College or Arts and Sciences some twenty plus years ago. I would not trade my experience at Howard University for anything in the world. It was integral in my development as an artist of color, it showed me how my Blackness was an asset and not an issue to fitting into the world of Show Business, and it instilled me with values that make me fight and work for everything that is given to me. I am forever grateful to the man I've become because of Howard University, and I would highly recommend this school to any Black student who seeks to pursue a career in the field of entertainment.

Extremely diverse campus. Teaches you so much about your heritage and how important and impact diversity is on a campus. Having people from all over the world interact in a learning environment lead for a more enriching experience. It allows you to see the bigger picture due to having so many different people share they experience and unique culture. Howard University is a great institution for educational advancement and networking opportunities. I will speak from experience that Howard University broaden my networking opportunities to speak with local employers about future jobs, gave me the skills to get a job and ways to maintain/keep a job. If you are a potential student and you were not assigned an adviser, I will advise you to establish a relationship with one and keep in constant communication.

The graduate school felt disjointed since each department was isolated from the others. The administration of the school was a nightmare and getting anything done, no matter how simple, took days to weeks to complete. The people working in my department were passionate about their field and knew they were stuck working in an old and dysfunctional system. Howard is a great place to explore one's identity. While at first glance, one might think it's simply a "Black" school, it is much more. The diversity of thought, culture, race, and intra-racial experiences inspires students to question the world around them in ways that they would not have imagined on their own. I am extremely thrilled to review Howard University College of Medicine. Here, you can expect a challenging curriculum, passionate professors, helpful peers and long lasting friends and mentors. Medicinal school has been known to be stressful, time consuming and expensive. Initially, I felt overwhelmed and lost. I am the first physician in my family and although I was proud of this, I also felt alone. However all of these negative feelings quickly melted away as I observed the lengths that my professors... Read More were willing to go to in order to help their students succeed. They have come in on Sundays before anatomy practicals and given us 3 hour review sessions, they have given us general review sessions at their houses and have provided us with their cell phone numbers. On rounds, they always find time to teach and include us in the care of the patient. My classmates are extraordinary as well. In medicinal school, there is intense pressure to do well and to make the highest scores possible. This environment can foster competitiveness and bring out the "gunners" as we like to call them. However, my classmates are exceptional. They voluntarily post electronic textbooks, review materials and links to great resources. We all genuinely want to see each other succeed and represent Howard in the best way possible. The financial aspect of medicinal school can daunting but the financial aid officers seek out scholarships for us and regularly notify us about opportunities. Overall, my experience here has been phenomenal. The diversity has also contributed to increasing my cultural competence. If I could do things all over again, I would undoubtedly choose Howard for medical school. I feel prepared, confident and supported by all of people I have encountered. I can truly say I gained another family.

Attending Howard was one of the greatest experience of my life. From schoolmates to Professors the networking reach is bar none. I feel pride to be amongst Howardites, the shared experience and strength gives me pride.
