Things you should know: -I was lied to, mislead and miscommunicated to multiple times about the ABSN program. -They are very disorganized, I had multiple advisors (4 in a year) because my advisors kept quiting, and the new adivsor would be confused and unable to answer my questions, frequently misrepresenting information and sending me to the wrong place, even for small things like technical support. -This school is very expensive, and advisors will suggest that you take out student loans + extra... Worst school i ever attended. They lie about clinical placements and then students cannot complete their degrees because it is hard to find clinical sites who want to partner with the school. How did i get fooled like this ? Will never recommend this school

I had a very professional and rewarding experience at GCU. I felt very supported throughout the program and I felt such a level of accomplishment when I graduated in 2018. I am now working at my dream job and I am on scheduled to start their DNP program at the end of the year.

The school makes fake promises to their students, they keep the students longer than they are suppose to, don’t let their classes get transferred to a new school and don’t allow the students to finish their programs. After the student has a huge loan and only one class left they made up lies and suspended the student. Then did not allow the student to return to finish one class left to graduate and not allowed to transfer to another university.

I am unsure why there are so many negative reviews here. I work full time rotating shifts on an ICU and this program is completely doable with that. In fact, it's actually enjoyable. The professors are highly accessible and really engage with the students. You can also tell the other students actually care about the program making group projects easy and I have never had an issue before. The content is interesting too. I think those that are complaining just don't want to put the work in because... Read More

This school is a joke. The nursing department heads do not care about fairness when the college screws up. They try to spin things on you and blame you for mistakes that the advisors made that jeopardize your entire education. Even when advising management verbalize that the mistake isn’t your fault. The nursing department backpedals to not accept any fault in anything. Absolutely would NOT recommend this college to anyone who is actually looking to gain knowledge and advance their career.

Words cannot explain the level of dishonesty and lack of transparency that occur here at GCU. What blows my mind is that they pretend to be a Christian University with Christian values, but they lie so much just to get you enrolled and take your money. NONE of the counselors care about your well-being. They all get paid at the end of the day. I understand this is a business but it's literally people's LIVES they toy with. I was told that I could fast track a 2 year master's program and complete it... Read More

I enrolled in the nursing program and had a great experience. The professors, dean, students are all really encouraging and supportive. I made friends throughout the program that I still keep in touch with. The classes were tough but the support is there. We all know nursing isn't an easy career field, it's a passion so none of us should be surprised the classes when the classes are challenging! Be engaged, study, don't wait until the last minute, etc. and you'll succeed.

So far, great school EXCEPT that the requirement for ONE online class is participation 5 DAYS A WEEK. YOUR GRADEs SUFFER IF YOU DON'T. Their policy is 3 days but ALL of my professors REQUIRE 5 days, so forget about taking more than one class. Don't believe counselor.

Grand Canyon University is a great school to go to especially after having received your first degree. I received my Masters degree from GCU after first getting my bachelor's degree. GCUs online courses are challenging and take dedication and hard work, and determination to complete. But I believe it was well worth the effort. Their instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and will work with you as long as you keep the lines of communication open and keep up with your course requirements, and... Read More

I should have read reviews before signing up for a class. paid so much money on books that I could have gotten free online. Sent professor 5 emails to discuss issues in the class, claimed he never received any of my emails. Counselor claimed to she called me several times and was not able to reach me. I don't like when people lie to cover themselves.

Highly recommend. Very user friendly format and lots of support. I received both my BSN and MSN degrees from GCU. will recommend this school to anyone that's ready to get it done quick . I would go back for my PHd if I ever decide to pursue. I was an online student and referred a friend who also had a great experience.

Only into my second online course with this university and it is awful. The instructor (I will leave out Professor as she doesn't deserve that title) will disappear for days- When the university did finally track her down (the first time)she was full of excuses of why she didn't put us into groups and respond to emails and online inquiries; i.e. her brother was home from the army, she has three other classes she is teaching, and so on. Well when you pay close to $3000 for one course you could care... Read More

I obtained my BSN online from the University of Phoenix in 2014, but registered for my online MSN at GCU because their per credit hour cost is significantly lower. I was a traditional student for my ADN and I have had 8 years of clinical experience before enrolling in my MSN. I too have had similar, less than acceptable, experience as some of you with actual conversations with financial aid officers and student advisers. Initially they are more than eager to meet your needs and then phone calls and... Read More

I completed RN-BSN at GCU and just LOVE IT! I am just starting MSN in Education. It has been GREAT for the first five weeks. My professor Dr Cheryl Williams is great and so glad I am in her class. I would love to be in her class for my next two courses. She communicate well with students. She's very positive. Students learn a lot from her posts replies to you. Of course school is very stressful and no school is easy. But instructors at GCU are VERY HELPFUL! I LOVE this school and have nothing to... Read More

I attended GCU to complete my BSN and decided to acquire my MSN in nursing education. I have attended campus colleges and was apprehensive to do an online course, but after taking classes with GCU I could not have been happier with the education I received. All classes were challenging with exceptionally knowledgeable, caring facilitators. The support available from all departments was helpful and sincere. The communication with instructors, classmates, and advisers was exceptional. Sharing of life... Read More

I'm a student and an employee at GCU.. This is nothing but a diploma mill institution. You will not gain anything out of this place, except a debt for the next 10+ years. They will recruit anyone, and I mean anyone.. Accelerated nursing program, class you can finish in 5 weeks, (good luck retaining anything valuable). There are people that failed nursing acceptance exam 4 times, and still got accepted. Management is joke. 90% are former employees from University of Phoenix. Don't be fooled by "Christian...
