The OMSC program is a solid, well thought out program. Class offerings are significantly limited to what you would get on the actual campus but the price for the program is extremely affordable in comparison to a typical cost for a post graduate degree or any degree, for that matter.

In my experience, most classes are high quality and very robust. Most can be quite difficult and will take a huge time commitment. Some other classes are not quite as high quality and will essentially throw you to the... Read More

Georgia Institute of Technology offers a great education for engineers and business majors in the deep south. It is considered a public ivy, and its education supports that. Classes are very rigorous here, and many students here aren't as sociable. The environment can be very depressing.

Georgia Tech did an amazing job at teaching the fundamentals of computer science, as well as preparing me for my career in software engineering. I could have not have asked for a better foundation. It also set me up with real-world experience, which is something not a lot of people get.

Georgia Tech is an amazing school. I learned so much about myself and my major. I made many friends and took pride in my accomplishments. My experiences translated into a solid career path. I learned how to be strong and persevere. I look back at the experience fondly.

My experience at Georgia Tech was strictly part-time online courses I am taking to complete a Master’s degree in Computer Science to further my education and my career. The courses at Georgia Tech provided me with the experience I need to get to further develop my technical skills and I would recommend it to any student like me looking to complete a degree while working full-time.

Despite its prestige and strong reputation, Georgia Tech’s education system has some drawbacks (at least for certain fields). I started as a Computer Science major but realized after two years that I didn’t enjoy it much nor did I really feel like I was learning anything. Part of it was definitely my own lack of talent in learning programming, but another large part of the problem was that getting help was nearly impossible since there were so many students competing for the limited time of professors... After switching to Business Administration, the experience was much more manageable. Professors and assistants were generally able to support students and provide practical, hands-on experience with real-world projects. That said, many of the projects I did required group members. Unfortunately for me, athletes were often my group members and they were frequently away for practice or games, which severely limited both my ability to contribute and what the team could realistically achieve.

I'm sure my experience would have been drastically different had I gone into any of the engineering fields that Georgia Tech is known for, but that was at least my experience with Computer Science and Business Administration.

The Materials Science and Engineering community at Georgia Tech is very supportive and has improved my experience. Coming to Tech, I wanted a university that would allow me to conduct cutting-edge research as an undergraduate student. I wanted a place that would be supportive of hands on learning. I have been able to do this and have been surrounded by peers that are also interested in research.

The classes are challenging at Georgia Tech but I believe that anyone who really wants to be an engineer... Read More

Great school if you are interested in engineering. If you are pre-health of any sort, I do not recommend going to this institution. GPA is very important for your future applications and Georgia Tech makes it very difficult (not impossible) to achieve the GPA necessary. Also, resources are limited for those students who are pre-health.

I graduated in 1987 and did not work in my field till 2006. There is no placement. The school is unsafe. Atlanta has few jobs in EE and most are taken by highly experienced northerners who are moving south to escape winters. I never worked in my field until I moved to Ohio where there is some industry and the experienced engineers leaving for the south opens up opportunity. The only tech jobs in Atlanta are for Computer Science majors or EE's with computer programming experience. This is a problem... Read More

I enjoyed my time at Georgia Tech and benefited in many ways by attending there. I was an out-of-state student and tuition was expensive, but the home state schools did not offer nearly as comprehensive a program as GT. Also, the many networking and collaborating opportunities l had would not have been possible elsewhere.

Like most other architecture programs, Georgia Tech's Bach is time-consuming and rigorous and has the benefit of being a distinguished and recognizable degree. However, the program seems determined to teach students sheer will power more than preparation for a real career as an architect or designer. While perseverance is certainly an admirable quality, I think the professors could be more merciful and encouraging towards their students.

Georgia Institute of Technology (or Georgia Tech) is an exceptional school for Engineering, particularly in Chemical or Aerospace engineering. Georgia Tech has a rigorous engineering curriculum.
