My experience at Florida A&M University was overall very positive and impactful. The culture, sense of community, and pride at an HBCU are unmatched. I especially loved the campus life and the Marching 100, which truly represents excellence, discipline, and tradition. Academically, I received a solid foundation and supportive professors who genuinely cared about student success. That said, the university could benefit from stronger technology infrastructure and modernization compared to some other... Read More

I don’t know about the other reviewers on here, but since I started in 2015, I was met with nothing but lazy staff. Every call that I have ever been in I had to wait +4hours to be connected to someone. At one point, when I was a freshman, I continuously called advisement for 9 hours (from 9:00am to 6:00pm) to get a hold of someone and got no responses or call backs. That was not the first instance either. I am GLAD I graduated so I don’t have to see that place again. All phone calls are a headache... Read More

FAMU is a great university with rich history and culture, supportive faculty and administration, and an energetic campus. During my four years, I majored in Biology/Pre-med and minored in Chemisty and Psychology. My professors were supportive, knowledgeable, and expected nothing but the best from me. I am proud to be a FAMU alumna. Go Rattlers!

Degree: Respiratory Therapy

My personal experience as a Respiratory Therapist student at FAMU was indeed an educational experience with a practicum of hands on in the clinical setting. The professors were superb in delivering the content for every course and they were available to assist you with questions on a daily basis. The students were competitive and we had study groups often. I felt more like a practitioner than a student! The professors coordinated with local hospitals and out of state hospitals to ensure that we were... Read More

Florida A&M University is not only an amazing school for education but it also a cultural experience. If you are like me and went to predominantly white schools or even if you attended predominantly black schools this university's students and faculty are dedicated to show you black excellence at its finest. It truly is a family where everyone just wants to see each other succeed.

Florida A&M University is an excellent university. Every professor is dedicated to the students and wants to make sure each student succeeds. To learn the campus and make new friends, join organizations as a freshman. I have worked for two government agencies and I believe this college prepared me to be a top candidate. The best advice I would give prospective students is to stay on top of their financial aid and credits. The administrative side of this college prepares you for the adult world. Students... Florida A&M University was a wonderful experience. Although I was there for only two years after receiving my associates degree, I felt like I walked into a nurturing environment. Although they nurtured me, they never let me forget my goal of graduating. I was constantly meeting with my advisor to help ensure that I had been doing everything well. Although I wanted my children to go to Florida A&M, my education has been a wonderful journey that has led me to who I believe that I am.

Florida A&M University is a historically black university. It has a rich history of assisting students with their education in order to prepare them for the world. The faculty and staff were heavily invested in my success. The class sizes were small which allowed the professors to provide a quality education to each student. My academic advisors were knowledgeable and instrumental in helping thrive in college. The university has many professional organizations such as the honors program. The program... Read More

FAMU is a place where you're valued and an institution where you can grow. The main competitive advantage FAMU has the campus truly makes you feel apart of a family. The university staff come from a wide background but yet are still able to relate to you on an individual level. You can form great relationships with your professor to help you gain an understanding of the subject but if you're a top performer they can also recommend you to opportunities you would have otherwise never known about. Attending Florida A&M University was one of the best decisions I have ever made. If you value learning about your heritage and culture, FAMU is the right place for you. I also enjoyed the fact that compared to other institutions and universities the classes were smaller in size which granted a closer relationship with professors. I am satisfied with the faculty and staff. Whenever I had a problem or concern I was always answered promptly. I am also satisfied with the quality of my degree.

I currently attend Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's College of Pharmacy and I absolutely love it. This university cares about student education and their success in their field of study. The instructors take their time to explain the material that they are presenting to each student. I always leave the campus knowing more information about pharmacy than the day before. I highly recommend this university to other students.
