This is the perfect MBA program for busy adults. 10 graduate courses is the right amount when you are also juggling a full-time job and a family. I see many schools out there that require all kinds of pre-requisite "foundation courses" and several more courses to complete within their programs. I earned my MBA at FSU. It took me about a year and was inexpensive. I began my studies at Fitchburg having never written a paper longer than three pages, with no knowledge of APA/college style writing, and had never done research. I found FSU relatively straightforward, and although I had a hiccup here and there, I graduated with a 3.91. My undergraduate degree is from Berklee College of Music, and the effort required to do well at FSU was nowhere near as difficult as my undergraduate coursework.... Read More I had about fifteen years of experience in the private sector when I applied, and I had recently left a corporate position to work for myself in the entertainment industry. The skills I gained in finance, corporate communication, and management were well worth the time. Most of my professors, with one exception, were terrific and always available. The advisory staff was terrible, and scheduling was confusing, with strange start/end dates and little centralized information about what was required. Check Degreeworks often. I almost ended up in a class that I didn't need. FSU is an incredible value for the quality of education you will receive. If you want to expand your skill set, make yourself more marketable, or gain insight into running a business, this program is great.

As someone who has graduated from the Fitchburg State University MBA program, I can tell you that this school is worth your money. The professors are brilliant and genuinely care about their students. The curriculum is good, and the school has a variety of electives you can take to help you get your MBA on track with what you want to do. The value of what you get for the money is fantastic. The instruction and course work were for the most part terrific. Two courses were not offered and I had to take them outside of the EDLM program, which was okay but the focus of the course work was not necessarily what I required for my learning purposes. The major problem I have with this University is their lack of communication with those students that are not on campus/undergraduate. I was constantly bombarded with information via email geared toward those students but very little was shared... Read More directly with me about expectations regarding tuition increases, financial aid options, graduation application, practicum and licensure documentation, etc. When there were issues, it was difficult to get one office to communicate with the other- i.e. registrar office and practicum/registrar and academic program. And when I brought up this lack of communication, the school's reponse to me was it was always an error on my part- rather than them looking at where the breakdown could have been on their part. If you are okay floating through a program on your own without any support- then this is the school for you. If you want to feel like your $ are appreciated and you are valued- please search for another school or program.

My experience at Fitchburg State University was well worth the price of admission. My instructors were incredibly insightful and I was challenged throughout my undergraduate career. The myriad of required courses helped me with my critical thinking as I learned about subjects that were once foreign to me. I attended Fitchburg State College at night using the GI Bill. I did this while a US Army military instructor stationed at Fort Devens, MA. Every aspect of Fitchburg was excellent. The teachers were exceptional. My classmates were exceptional. I still remember Dr. Anne May (now deceased) as one of the most professional academics I ever met. She guided me through a US Dept of Health, Education, and Welfare mini-grant (one of only ten issued in the nation) to study military speech disorders among military... Dr May continued, by correspondence, to support my publication of a professional paper after I graduated and while stationed in a combat zone. I continued to a second Master's Degree elsewhere and graduation from the Army War College. Today, forty plus years later, I still value every class I attended at Fitchburg State College.

I absolutely love the Reading Specialist program at Fitchburg State. The professors have all been extremely knowledgeable and helpful which is wonderful. It has made succeeding much easier. It has always been easy to register for classes and the staff in all of the offices have been understanding and helpful. As a graduate student I have not taken advantage of all the new upgrades the college has to offer which made it hard to rate. However, I have heard many good things about new technology and... Although many wonderful things are happening around campus, there is always room for upgrades.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Fitchburg State, so I am very familiar with the department that runs my current graduate program. I mainly chose Fitchburg State because it was the most affordable of the three schools I was accepted to, and I don't regret my decision at all. I very much enjoyed my time at Fitchburg. The communications program is the best, all the professors are industry professionals and they teach you a lot. I was promoted in under 9 months because of knowledge and I contribute that to my great professors. The campus is nice and small with everything in walking distance. I personally loved that all I had to do was cross the street to go to class. The buildings are being constantly updated. The surrounding community had been improving over the years... Fitchburg State is great for communications media, specifically film/video production. The teachers are great and really know what they're doing. There's not too much to do around the area but there are plenty of clubs and events at the school. However, as a film student the area offers many different types of locations and is great for filming. A lot of buildings and areas have recently been updated, rebuilt, remodeled, etc. so it is new and nice. It's not too big of a school so eventually everyone...
