I think the education that I am receiving is really helping to improve my skills and the faculty members are great when it comes to teaching and supporting their students. As a grad student pursuing music, I was able to get an out of state tuition remission as well as a grad assistantship which was extremely helpful financially considering I am an independent. One downfall would be the surrounding area. Greenville is not the safest place. Also, trying to find private students to teach cello to is... Read More

The East Carolina University Dept. of Geography, Planning and Environment has excellent professors and course content. I have taken classes such as Water Resources Management and Planning, Terrestrial Laser Scanning, Environmental Planning, Design for the Built Environment, and GIS. My experience at ECU has been nothing but positive and I would recommend the program to anyone interested in Geography, planning, environmental issues, or atmospheric science.

East Carolina University is an amazing school with programs and groups of people for everyone. It is thriving in the sciences and has great opportunities for students who would like to continue their education. It is rooted in the heart of Greenville, NC which is a hub for many major industries and is in a prime location, one hour from Raleigh and one hour from the beach. I feel that I have been challenged and received a quality education while still being able to participate in multiple student... Read More

My graduate program is competitive and offers great courses and faculty, however financial aid awards are subjective and ambiguous. The location pulls you away from areas that promise great internship and job opportunities. I have been impressed with the program, but sometimes question if I am gaining the right experiences that will make me competitive in the job market.

The Pros of this program is the small class size and the willingness of the professors to go above and beyond to help their students. The atmosphere is also not as competitive as other schools. The location of Brody and the building itself is a con.

Pros: I can go back to school and still be a family woman at home and in my local community. Cons: I sometimes miss the face-face interaction of my course mates. However, the Health Education and Promotion professors are so helpful such that their ways of teaching is outstanding and very interactive. To bridge the gap between my online school work and on-campus life, I seize the opportunities to attend health-related seminars and go to Greenville for work-related trainings. In that way, I don't feel... Read More

Pros - Being a completely online program means that the work load is a lot BUT I love it so much because I am learning at every moment and using what I have learned directly at work. That alone, makes me appreciate what I am doing as a graduate student, and makes me appreciate ECU for making it affordable. Cons - Being a mother of young children ranging from ages 10 to 4 and working part-time, homeschooling, writing on the side and getting published, and being actively involved in my local community,... The pros of the program is that it is very flexible. You can take it online with great professors and there are some classes on campus to if you are close. The cons is that it is not as challenging in some aspects. I would like more management training and experience. I need more experience before I go into a corporate world.

I really love this program!! The staff and faculty are so open to help their students learn and provide opportunities for them to succeed following the completing of the program. They treat all of their students with the same kindness and respect they deserve. They are always willing to share they're school and research experiences with students to encourage them to want to be innovative and create knowledge that they can one day convey to others. BEST GRADUATE PROGRAM EVER!!!

East Carolina University is a well respected leader in Nursing education. Being selected to attend their graduate programs for nursing is a great honor. The staff are extremely supportive and while the majority of the instruction is on line, they include mandatory campus dates for clinical workshops which is a great opportunity to meet the staff and your classmates. The cost of tuition is very reasonable as compared to other MSN programs but the education you get for your money is exceptional.

The program is offered completely online which is a tremendous benefit. My advisor contacted me immediately upon submission of application and served as a guide available for questions. She followed up by phone as well as email.

It was a good fit. I wanted to become a teacher, and the college specialized in teacher prep. Choose something you love doing. Don't choose a major based on possible earnings later.

Degree: Physician Assistant
I believe that the advantages of ECU’s Physician Assistant Program far outweigh the disadvantages. ECU offers a very competitive, high-quality training program in which students are well-prepared to enter the medical field. Scores on the certification exam are among the highest in the nation and a diversity of didactic and clinical opportunities prepare students well for diagnosing and treating patients.

ECU has a decent A-GNP/FNP program. Some lack of support from advisors and keeping you up to date on requirements for admissions, clinicals, etc.
