My time at DePaul was a great experience. I really enjoyed having faculty who cared about their students and were willing to help. My faculty and advisors were very helpful at communicating career opportunities and for keeping me on track to graduate. DePaul Central staff are very helpful with financial aid and payment questions. One of my main reasons for choosing DePaul was because of the offered resources. Resources like the Writing Center, SI, and the Library were all offered to help students... Read More succeed in the classroom. For example, I received a lot of help from the SI leader in challenging courses like Chemistry and Biology. I am not very happy with the food options offered at the university. The food can be very expensive and lack of variety. There are various volunteer opportunities and leadership opportunities available on campus for students. There are various clubs and student held organizations. In addition, there are now available spaces dedicated to multicultural students. I do not have any experience living on campus since I have been a commuter student during the four years at DePaul. I do enjoy the activities available during midterm and finals week. The university does a good job providing resources and activities for students to de-stress. Overall, I feel very pleased to have been on this campus for the past fours years. I hope to return and enroll in a graduate program. In addition, alumni who return are offered a 25% discount when enrolling in a graduate school program.

DePaul's degree program was really great because they really focus on opportunity for different cultures and ethnicities. They also teach you a lot about Chicago history and the history of the school, as well as the founder St Vincent De Paul. He was basically an icon to them because he believed in equality and opportunity for anyone and everyone. I loved all of my professors, although of course I had some that I didn't really care for. They made sitting in a desk for an hour and a half really fun or interesting. I do, however, not recommend for out of state students because it is incredibly expensive. I am struggling to pay off my student debt right now because of the debt. They gave me some scholarship money for my grades in high school, but it still wasn't enough for me to be okay after graduating.

Processes like picking, classes, defining a major was a bit confusing initially. Once I connected with my advisor it was a breeze. Dr Ruth was awesome and very helpful. She also educated me on supportive resources that were available to me. I did my bachelors in 3 years, well really 2.5. I really like how DePauls school... Read More for new learning also customizes degrees to your interest. When you are already a professional this flexibility allows you to tailor fit your experience to fit your needs. Don't do it. The quarter system is horrible for finding internships because you're in school until mid-June and is very stressful. You're living the thankless corporate rat race life while you're in school if you study IT at DePaul. I regret the choice I made, so I'm writing this because maybe I will save someone from getting stuck with the same stressful and not-worth-it experience. The Master of Arts in Sustainable Urban Development (MASUD) at DePaul University seeks to educate students to be address real-world issues facing urban environments that including how to become more sustainable; how to best utilize old industrial sites; modernizing transportation networks; how to best invest economic development funding; how can community input be better incorporated into the public decision process. A genuinely interdisciplinary program that integrates analytical aspects from fields such as Urban Planning, Public Policy, Sociology, Geography, Public Service Management, Environmental Studies, Real Estate, the MASUD introduces students to sustainable urban development policy, data collection and analysis, planning processes, strategies for implementation, modes of communication, and evaluation mechanisms.
