Dallas Theological Seminary

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart and deep disappointment. As someone who was granted free tuition due to significant financial hardship, I was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend this institution. I believed it was a place that truly cared about its students and mission.
However, I feel completely backstabbed. After enrolling, I was informed about a "Spiritual Formation" fee of $100 that was never mentioned during the application or enrollment process. This feels like a bait-and-switch.... Read More When a student is offered "free tuition" because of financial need, the expectation is that they won't be surprised by hidden fees. This unexpected charge, for a course that seems to be a core part of the institution's identity, completely undermines the promise of free education.
It's disheartening to feel that this seminary, which purports to be guided by spiritual principles, cares more about extracting money than supporting students in genuine need. The lack of transparency around this fee is a serious issue. Prospective students should be aware that "free tuition" may not be truly free and that the institution seems to prioritize financial extraction over student trust and well-being.

Dallas Theological Seminary is the only seminary in the United States that studies all sixty-six books of the bible. The faculty is an excellent representation of the all walks of life. From women professors, men professors, old and younger, it is a excellent school of choice for anyone wanting to learn more about the scriptures. The advising team is very helpful and always there to help, along with the financial aid office. They have a library that is second to none with individual booths for Ph.... Read More D students so they do not have to stress about study space. The technology lab is filled with 27" Mac computers along with every software possible for editing video, papers or simply getting online to talk to friends, or even look for scholarship like this one. :-) DTS is a great school and if you are wanting to learn, as did I, they have preview days where you can visit the campus, join a class and come to chapel and see if it fits you?

DTS has some of the best and brightest on faculty. I am astounded at how often I find many of them writing in some of the major publications around the world addressing the theological issues we face today. The education is superb and as good as it gets. The challenge for any believer attending is to lose sight of the goal of this education - a deeper relationship with the Lord. It is easy to slip into a routine and treat the Bible as more of a textbook than the means by which we come to know God... Read More better. Having had experience with another seminary, I feel that Dallas Theological is the top of the line when it comes to committed training in Biblical exposition. Their convicted stance on the Bible being the inspired Word of God is an encouraging foundation from which students will glean wisdom and insight into Scripture. Read More intellectual setting is the lack of practical application. If students are not careful, it would be easy to attend DTS without regularly putting into practice what is being taught. Be intentional in this regard. The truths that are being learned are life-changing both to the student and to those around him/her.

Its a small campus in the middle of the city of Dallas. Dallas has an excellent transportation system. There is a nice park right down the street from the campus. There is some crime in the area and the campus police have done everything they can to make sure students are safe. The campus is well maintained. The professors are all well educated and have a heart for teaching. As far as diversity, we have students from all over the world.
