This program is ideal for understanding structural dimensions of health and healthcare. There is ample room to combine it with traditional public health methods.

The pros are the stimulating academic community. The cons are the affordability of the program.

Pros: Ivy League, smart peers Cons: Non-diverse class

Pros: I think the education attained a Columbia School of Nursing is state of the art. The education we receive is on par with what the medical and dental students receive. Cons: I think because the Nursing Program is so accelerated, we tend to be at a disadvantage with clinical skills (compared to other schools). But that quickly changes the more we are actually in clinic with preceptors.

I get a great education and get the opportunity to live in a great city. The cost of living is the only con.

Nursing Program Pros - faculty members are available outside of the classroom to provide support, there are many clinical and research opportunities within the school and in the surrounding area, global health opportunities are available. Cons - school and cost of living is expensive, need for more student and faculty diversity.

Columbia's Physical Therapy program is very challenging but very exciting. The faculty is very supportive and they do everything in their power to help their students succeed. The area around the campus and hospital is safe, but don't wander too far off campus since it is not the best area. The cost of living is relatively affordable, considering it's in New York City. Columbia has connections to so many different places for affiliations both in and out of the country.

Pros: excellent faculty assistance, wide breadth of topics covered in the core curriculum, great use of technology, excellent career and practicum assistance, many research opportunities Cons: hectic schedule for first years (during the new core curriculum), heavy workload first semester, campus library is often crowded and students forced to study off campus

PROS- great integration across topics in the core curriculum - famous, important professors who are doing the main research in their respective fields - can't beat living in NYC and the opportunities that affords - name recognition of Columbia CONS- Core curriculum is extremely taxing, leaves no time for work (which a lot of people in a professional degree program might like) - not the greatest neighborhood

The program provide ample opportunity to increase your academic preparations for further doctoral or professional studies like medical or dental schools.

Great new Core program! It is more expensive in NY, but I knew that coming here.

A unique combination of subjects, accessibility to courses from different disciplines and schools. Teachers are great. High workload, the program is isolating in that way. Not enough financial support.

Funding is a serious issue. It you got it, then your life in CU will easier. GOOD LUCK!

Advantage: 1. University Brand: This may get you almost every interview in this field. 2. This is a two-year program so you will have enough time to search a job. 3. There are not many students in this program so the opportunities are much more for each. 4. Medical center is a great place. Disadvantage: 1. For course, there are just two electives. And wo cannot select many courses in other schools. 2. In New York, everything is finance. So it is a little frustrating for us.
