I will start off with the good parts of the university. It's not a party school so you know everyone is there to get their degrees or do enough credits to transfer to a different university. People are usually friendly, there isn't much chaos apart from rare occurrences that aren't because of the student body.
However, the academics side of the university isn't the best. Some professors are known to never teach or help their students, and the quality of the lecture varies dramatically. I think it... Read More

Clayton State University is a affordable school choice that offers excellent academic programs. They have implemented some new graduate programs and bachelors degrees. The school is very diverse including age range and ethnicities. The student to professor ratio is average. There is also apartments and dorm style housing available.

Clayton State University was/is a great university. The professors and instructors in the history department were very hands-on and there for all the students. Throughout my academic career at Clayton State, I learned a great deal about the history field and was able to navigate the direction I wanted my future career to go. Networking in the history department is something that I enjoyed the most at Clayton State because this really has helped me out in my career thus far. The campus is mid-size... Read More

I have zero regrets for choosing to attend Clayton State University. The professors are great and care about their students. I felt as prepared as one could be going into the field of education. This is year 4 for me being a teacher and most of my early success in this profession is due to the fact I went to Clayton State. This is not a easy profession and the professors at Clayton State are not out of touch with reality and acknowledge the fact that students choosing this profession should not go... Read More

Clayton State University is a great school to attend, not only because it's affordable but also because there are faculty members who are always willing to help. Faculty members that I've come across have always been willing to lend a helping hand, whether it came to registering for courses or simply just finding my way across campus. My degree program was all about learning how to become a more independent individual. My degree program has prepared me for actual working environments (thanks to the... Read More

Great university with instructors that develop quality relationships with their students. The classroom experience is very interactive that consisted of dialog from various students with different backgrounds who shared their working and personal life experiences that are invaluable.

I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Art in Education for Secondary Mathematics at Clayton State University. The professors have been extremely supportive and consistent in making sure you stay on track for your expected graduation date. The classes are difficult, but not impossible. The professors are there for you every step of the way. Between the staff and rigor of the quality of the courses, you really get a valuable overall experience.

This school provides a lot of great opportunities for those willing to do the work, and hustle. I enjoyed the plethora of social activities available as well as the instruction of my professors. The downside of the program is it needs more professional representation with organizations, such as AHIMA and ACHE. I found other Universities more competitive in the area such as GA State.

My sophomore year going into my senior year was great. However in my senior year the advisors I had were not good as senior advisors. The first advisor I had was new to the school and didn't know enough to help seniors. I asked if I could have another advisor and was given the choice of picking one. I chose a teacher I had previously had who was on top of his game as a teacher so I felt like he would make a great advisor. However, he was worst than the inexperienced advisor. He was too busy to meet... Read More

Liberal Arts is a new Masters program at Clayton State. It is up and coming but improving each semester. The program has diversity in online, early afternoon, and afternoon classes for working students. The class size is not too large and the teachers have a very good sylabus prepared for class. Clayton State needs to improve on classes with more varieites in music, literature, and foreign languages.

Clayton State University is a great school for anyone who enjoys small classes and attentive professors. It is the most diverse college campus I've ever seen. The workload is rigorous, but it prepares you to be successful in your desired field. Fall 2013, I started my first semester as a graduate student in the M.S. in Clinical Psychology program.
