I loved my time at CWRU. The people I met were kind, interesting, and passionate about the work that they do. I feel like I had so many excellent opportunities at CWRU, and even during COVID-19, I was able to connect with and learn from professors. I wish there was a bit more school spirit, but since I've graduated, I feel that it has increased. I always look back on my college days fondly and am grateful to have been educated at CWRU.

I attended Case Western Reserve University about 10 years ago, so this may not be a fully up-to-date perspective. There are definitely some clear positives and negatives. On the positive side, the campus is really nice—the library, cafeteria, dorms—everything is comfortable and well-suited for studying. On the downside, as an Asian student, I often felt isolated and lonely. The university is perfect if you want a small-school feeling with a plethora of activities, opportunities for research, and clubs. My personal experience has been extremely positive. The faculty push you beyond your supposed limits and encourage you to participate in a lab or labs of your choice. The classes can be difficult, depending on your major, but there are many ways to get help from (free) tutor centers. Be aware of the steep price.

I never had a dream college as a child growing up, but after my first year at Case, I realized this is my dream school. There are so many great things about CWRU, I could go on forever. The people I have met, students and faculty, have been friendly and inviting. There is no competition between students, everyone wants each other to succeed and there is a lot of camaraderie. My degree program thus far has been what I expected of college, the core requirement classes have a lot of people in them,... Read More

Case Western Reserve University is an excellent, groundbreaking university. Like many of the ads say, it has a strong research focus and many of students are involved in research on campus. If you're not involved in research, it's very easy to get involved. If you don't like research, then you're definitely in the minority. Most students study the sciences and are aspring engineers, doctors, nurses. Many students (though not many survive it!) are BME (biomedical engineering) and pre-med, although... Read More
