A lot of money for little quality. Faculty in early courses are attentive but once the capstone portion is near the experience takes a nosedive. There is no consistency amongst faculty, so each professor from course to course gives conflicting directions, which causes re-work over and over again. Instructors miss grading deadlines and make ridiculous mistakes. You can get this degree done quickly but you'll pay a price in actual education. Pay to play university.

Capella will waste your time while they collect tuition. The school simply tries to prolong your journey so that they can keep charging you for tuition. You can write a perfect DNP project paper, but the instructors will grade your poorly and ask you to integrate their biased opinions into your plans. Then, they will question everything you say or do. The school gives you 3 attempts on assignments but the instructors help you waste them pretty quickly. For example, instructors will tell you to change... Read More

My experience with Capella University from my initial call through commencement was by far the best academic journey I have ever experienced. I was treated like an individual from the first phone call and supported throughout my program. Faculty and especially my doctoral project mentor were outstanding and the best in the field. I have encouraged many of my former students to attend and some have attended Capella University. The journey although difficult was supported by the entire Capella team.... Read More

I got my Doctor of Nursing Practice through the preparatory program for nurses with a nonnursing Master's degree. I cannot say enough about customer service. Anytime I had a problem, I got a swift response. I was automatically registered for my classes, which is very convenient. I was challenged by the teachers and content, and I am a better person because of it. I am fulfilling my dream now of teaching nursing for a local college.

Outstanding program with appropriate level of rigor. Completion of degree placed me in my ideal professional career position. The faculty and staff are supportive from pre admission counseling through degree completion. Mentor provided guidance at all important junctures.

Well developed program. Very organized.started at another University with a lot of disorganization, but Capella has been fully dependable and easy to get into contact with everyone I have wanted to. The program is very manageable and provides the necessary coursework for each class.

DO NOT go anywhere near this school. I earned a 3.8 GPA in my ADN program and 4.0 in my BSN program. I also have additional degrees outside of nursing. I evened earned a 4.0 throughout three years of coursework at Capella. However, I will never graduate as I was administratively withdrawn from the program. The regular courses of the program are actually quite good and challenging. The doctoral project of their program is poorly developed and the professors do not have the knowledge needed to actually... Read More

Loved every minute of it! Fantastic instructors the support and service you receive is top notch! I received my DNP form Capella and have had nothing but positive outcomes since I graduated. Everything is organized and the degree plan was set and never changed. They were nothing but upfront and honest with me and were there for anything I needed. I highly recommend Capella DNP program!

Please, please DO NOT waste your time on money on this school. I have several other college degrees and have NEVER had the problems I've experienced with this school. There is NO preparation or guidance for the doctoral project and each instructor has a different idea of what it entails. My instructors kept changing too, mid-project and then I'd be with someone unfamiliar with my project. I started my project over four times and this required many extra quarters of work....but of course if they keep... Read More

I have been going to school for 2 years now and I am currently working on my PHD in nursing education. I love on line learning. The instructors are great and willing to help you any way they can. The tuition is reasonable but love the convenience. I work Mon through Friday and Capella fits my schedule

I am currently in the DNP program/Nursing Leadership. The program has been both challenging and rewarding, and as with any doctoral program, sacrifices are to be expected while matriculated. Every resource is available to make a student successful, one needs to just reach out to the school for assistance. Doctoral candidates are paired with a mentor to guide them through the dissertation/capstone process. Yes, the work, reading, writing, revisions of work are just that - work. But it is my work,... Capella University is a great place to earn an online degree. I am currently working on my DNP and highly recommend this program. It is rigorous and I have learned a lot already. I also like that they are updating the degree program per comments received. This strengthens the program. The courses are great, the online format is great, and so far most of my professors have been wonderful. As a Capella Ambassador, I highly recommend Capella!

The program itself is fine however the academic support resources are disgraceful. My experience was that the advising team and leadership were more interested in denying any error on their part and shifting blame on to the student despite multiple documented interactions. I truly expected to be treated professionally and have a very minor error (initially) corrected. Unfortunately their failure to accept responsibility and ongoing exchange has lead to almost half a quarter being wasted because I... Read More
