I have had an excellent experience at Capella University. My enrollment counselor and academic advisors have been very thorough when providing answers to my questions and finding the correct answer is they are unsure. My professors have been very professional and have challenged me to be successful by incorporating expectations for a learner in a doctoral program. The learners I have encountered in my classes have been supportive and have shared experiences that assisted in the learning environment.... Read More

I am a current student at Capella for the Education Administration EdS program. I also have a Master's degree from Capella in Higher Education. The programs at Capella allow for flexibility in advanced coursework for anyone who is working full-time, raising a family or simply has obligations during "typical" course time. The education programs are widely accepted in the work force and has allowed me to further my career goals as an educational leader.

I picked up new tools for my managerial tool kit that helped my performance. The classes were challenging and made me think out of the box. Being a doctoral student got me a promotion. It was a game changer. I would do it again in a minute. The faculty were the key, they were helpful and constantly challenged us.

I had to be in a year to give a review but I founded Capella to be a maze. I would not recommend Capella to anyone. The instructors are not knowledgeable. Capella also changed their curriculum several times and regardless to when you entered or the maximum completion time, you will be placed in the new curriculum or be withdrawn from the school. Capella is unethical and does not care about the students. This school is only interested in money and it is very expensive to attend. I would check the... Read More

Capella will max out your financial aid. They held me back and would not let me go through the process in which I enrolled. They made me go through a SMR process where I had to write the proposal again. I had to write a pre-proposal, proposal and SMR. I had to repeat components that I had already done. Capella is after money. There is no one to talk to when you are having a problem. I don't see how they stay in business. It is the longest process that I have ever seen to obtain a degree. Capella... I am a current student and was too deep in program to turn around before I identified issues. Strongly feel the educational process at Capella SOE is designed to keep students in the program. Unlike other learners experiences, my mentor was really good and available. But anytime when documents were submitted to the university, they were lost, had long waits for feedback, after receiving feedback small changes/adjustments to dissertation, SMR, paperwork, or proposal during the process (that took me...
