The campus culture is very much that of a commuter college and if you're looking for involvement in anything outside of academics, it is scarce. This program was accelerated and highly desirable for the allied health professional career seeker. The director is also the director of the nursing programs on campus so if you want to apply for the accelerated master in nursing program on campus after your undergrad is completed it is very helpful by starting with this program. The school is known for their science majors and the health science program is no exception to the rule. It is also a complimentary program if you want to continue to graduate program in healthcare administration. Graduating from CSU Stanislaus' Sociology program is hands-down the best experience I've had. The professors are there to mentor you, to guide you, encourage you, and believe in you. Every professor I've had, has been passionate about their subject matter and has been a valuable resource. CSU Stanislaus was a great program for me specifically, and I felt like it was a good "fit". I was able to join different honors societies and participate in community service events that helped me network with working professionals. This is an excellent program. The doctorate program in leadership is geared towards working people. The program has changed to encourage and motivate people to enroll in the program. This program has 2 years of academic courses and one year in writing your dissertation. It is composed of 36 months. Classes are taken in the Summer, Fall, and Spring for three years. The assignments are rigorous and challenging. They really make you analyze and think critically. This ensures that theories and the learning objectives are discussed academically in detail. Professors use Blackboard in which students upload there assignments and the professor provides timely feedback. Blackboard is also used for class discussion on theories and practices. The program also assists students in finding time to write their dissertation. During this time professors are available to read and assist students by giving them guidance as to what is needed to be stated in their dissertation and what is not needed. They help you write what is necessary and help you understand that you must get to the point when writing your dissertation. This is a difficult process, but it is attainable and makes your writing more academic. Moreover, this doctorate program is not easy it truly takes over your life. You will have no life which is necessary to be able to receive good grades and do well in the program. Yet, it is well worth it at the end when you graduate with a doctorate degree. This will test your ability to accomplish what you started.
