Auburn University

I attained a degree in Industrial Design. I put my best effort in but I do not feel like I received a good education. I think I got a far better education from my community college with a lame Liberal Arts Degree, but at least they taught me something. I am not saying all the teachers at Auburn are bad, but I recommend not going for an Industrial design degree. It’s a 100% all on you, and they do not meet you half way. They get paid good money to teach and 80% of INDD teachers do not teach any valuable... Read More information. I feel like I wasted the rest of my MGI Bill on this school. I even forked up my own money after the MGI was tapped out and almost went broke. I worked one crumby Industrial Design job at a bunk playground company that didn't pay good, and I eventually quit. Then I applied for other INDD jobs and went to a couple interviews but the pay was bad PLUS no stipend. I applied for a very interesting power equipment company that loved my power tool studio portfolio, but they wanted to start me out as an intern, even though I had prior job experience. I cannot survive a 17 dollar an hour internship with no benefits and a 50/50 chance of getting hired. I turned it down as well. I After that I just ended up working bunk architectural drafting jobs; The one I work now pays quite a bit more than the INDD job and only requires 2D CAD experience or a 2 year tech degree. I should have just got a certification in CAD then. I suggest not giving up anything you have or your house to move to Auburn and attend school. My life has been a spiral downhill since I graduated. Go get a certificate or good paying associates degree. Chances are a 4 year University is going to rip you off. Three words say it all for this college; "WASTE OF TIME". Heed my warning.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT use your GI Bill for flight training here if you're a veteran. Myself and several others had a horrendous flight training experience here utilizing the Post 911 GI Bill. It's good training, but the astronomical costs will use up your GI Bill quickly, and you'll likely have to take out loan amounts that you wouldn't have to for the same training elsewhere. There are hundreds of flight students here training at the same time, stretching instructor schedules thin and only offering... Read More 3 day per week blocks at best. The school prides themselves on having a large aircraft fleet with advanced cockpits, and they do, but it does nothing to help cut down on delays. You'll likely wait 3+ weeks for stage checks and remedial training lasting in excess of a month should you incomplete a stage, and the syllabus is very lengthy. VA officials that certify classes are oftentimes rude and show no willingness to help or answer important financial questions. Try Liberty or elsewhere.

Auburn is a wonderful university! Even attending many years ago, I feel my time there prepared me for my chosen career path. The professors I worked with were very helpful and gave great advice in helping me to think through some of the lessons I was preparing to teach in a practice setting. They were kind and encouraging and were available to help in anyway needed. They provided resources to their students so that I could find materials and ideas I could use in lesson plans I created as a practice for future teaching opportunities. When applying for my first job, they were willing to provide recommendations through the application process and they would follow up with me until I found my first job. I would highly recommend Auburn University to any student looking to attend a warm and friendly environment. As a graduate of this university, I find that I am very proud to have earned a degree from this great institute.

Auburn is the perfect college to attend. There is no better feeling on campus and community that I have encountered surrounding a school. They make a point about the Auburn family, and it is absolutely true. The engineering and the business schools are certainly the strengths of the school. Teachers will do an amazing job for preparing you for later courses in grad school, or for the real world, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. Pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture at Auburn University was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and completing it, my greatest accomplishment. I love Auburn University. I feel it was a great mix of strong academics, friendly environment and fun atmosphere. I has a very strong school spirit, especially when it comes to college football. I attended Auburn University for my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. The psychology program at Auburn University really prepared me to continue my degree in the field of School Psychology. The psychology program opened up opportunities to students that would really help us to better understand the psychological processes that people experience every day. The professors were clear and understanding in their teaching methods, but they also made the courses interesting and it made me excited to go to class. I have student loans that are piled up because I was an out-of-state student, and although I have student debt, Auburn University was the perfect fit for my undergraduate career and I would highly recommend their psychology program to anyone interested.

I start Auburn University's Graduate Certificate Program in Brewing Science & Operations in the fall of 2017. I am very excited about the opportunities that might open up after I graduate. Auburn is the only Masters level program that I could find offering a certificate or degree in Brewing Science. I left Auburn University with mixed feelings. On the social side, it was filet mignon. On the academic side, rump roast! Socially, I met my wife and some of the best friends I'll ever have. I also was able to celebrate a BCS nationally championship in football, which is the most unbelievable experience a college student could ask for in my opinion.
