I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience with this nursing program.

Unfortunately, the program was extremely disorganized and poorly managed. Communication from administration was inconsistent, deadlines would change without proper notice, and students were often left scrambling for clarification. For a field that demands professionalism and precision, the lack of structure was disappointing.

The dean has been particularly discouraging, unresponsive and dismissive.... Instead of fostering a supportive learning environment, the culture often felt dismissive and unresponsive.

Clinical placements lacked coordination, advising was minimal, and many students felt unsupported during critical parts of the program. Nursing education is already challenging students should not have to navigate unnecessary administrative chaos on top of rigorous coursework.

I strongly encourage prospective students to thoroughly research alternative programs before committing. A nursing program should prepare and empower its students, not leave them feeling frustrated and unheard.

I received an associate degree from ANU, and went on to pursue my bachelor's degree at ANU because I did not want to lose 96 credit hours. I ran out of student financial aid lacking 28 credit hours to get my bachelors degree, and this school had no money to help go towards my bachelor's degree. The externship term is a hassle. Why can’t a student completed the 162 hours within the time frame they are able to rather then spreading it out within 10 weeks. Also for sick and/or pregnant students the virtual/online externship should be available. It’s only available to covid restricted areas and at this point in the US there are no covid restricted areas at the time. I believe if this is a online school then virtual/online externship should be available to those who are seriously ill or close to their due date in pregnancy. To insure students are not wasting their time and money and are provided with all the options available to them when they are there. My grades are great and I haven’t received anything less than A’s and B’s with my 3 terms attending ANU I am due in 8 weeks and my term is 10 weeks and I reached out for the option of virtual externship because I see it is available but I was told it’s not an option for me. After I informed staff that my health care provider informed me that the job description would not be a good idea for me to preform at this time. Lifting , bending , standing for long periods of time towards the end of my pregnancy is things I was recommended not to do and staff is encouraging me to take off the term instead of giving me the option of virtual/online externship that’s available.

Do NOT GO THERE. I'm screaming and begging do not go there don't even give them a second thought. Save your money and sanity. These people are straight money hungry crooks they will take all your money wait until it's completely exhausted then wait until the last minute before the time starts tell you you have to pay in cash or you can't start so basically they wait until they collect all your money and then tell you that you're basically stuck with them because by that time you can't go anywhere... They did it to me they used up all of my financial aid all of my student loans and then a week before my last two terms they told me that I needed to pay over $2,000 to complete my program I had 4 months left to graduate and they didn't inform me of any of this beforehand.

When researching weather or not to attend American National University I noticed several negative reviews that did not reflect my experience, so I felt I needed to speak out. American National University conducted my courses through zoom which gave me the chance every week to meet with other students in my program and my professors. Do not go here! They take your money, every single term I start late because they somehow forgot to do something, messed up my schedule, or messed up my financial aid. In the beginning I looked up to a instructor in my field at the school. Little did I know they were on probation with my state for STEALING DRUGS FROM A PHARMACY THEY WORKED IN AS A PHARMACIST. I got stuck at a retail chain for both of my externships. They tell you a week before all the requirements needed to start an externship, which includes paying out of pocket for a drug test that was due before you even started. This "school" is a joke. Instructors don't teach, don't know what they are doing, and don't answer your questions. I had to call my instructor and complain because my mid term and final were graded WRONG. I called and it took her a week to fix it. I enjoyed being a hybrid student. Having online and on campus classes. But halfway through they neglected to tell me my campus doesn't have on campus classes anymore. Please, do not go here. I ignored the reviews before I started and I wish I listened and didn't go here.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEIR ACCREDITATION!!! I've completed my full 2 years of education with National College, currently ANU, and was told from a 4 year traditional school that none of my credits would transfer due to their accreditation. Although my instructors were amazing back then, I have had a difficult time moving forward with my education. Please do not assume that employer's will hire you just because you have a degree. I cannot tell you how many times i was questioned about where i got my degree from, & in the same manner, was passed up for the job opportunity. I originally went to this school for cybersecurity then when the school lost the means of teaching it I switched majors. I started going for another major and had some hardships come up. I wanted to pursue the rest of my education and all was good till my very last term when they said I ran out of financial aid money. Do not go to this school. I went to the Dayton campus. The school didnt tell what all I needed to start any of my extern ships until last minute then failed me for the course and it wasnt even my fault. For the hospital extern I had to have health insurance and my teacher knew that and still failed me even though theres proof of documentation that I dont have insurance and because of the they took my financial aid and now I cant even finish my last two classes and when I tried to talk to someone... The campus I attended in Kentucky is a complete joke. I advise that nobody attend this private for profit University. They say they help with job placement, all jobs that were sent to me asked for at least 2 years experience in the field of work or to far away. I was in the first group to go through the combined phlebotomy and ECG technician program. There were three of us in the group. When we took the certification exams (both phlebotomy and ECG) we cheated and the instructor helped us cheat. Not... Sorry but that is very unprofessional and unethical. We didn't need to cheat to pass the exam maybe teaching your students the material needed to pass exams would be a much better alternative. Do not waste your time with university. I applied to do their Online Medical Office Professional(MOP) program. Thought it was great there was a campus in my town, Yet it was all online and fit my schedule, I went full time, 3 classes per 10 week term, took me 8 months. Should have a diploma this month for it because I passed all requirements. What was interesting to me is, When I enrolled I had all the support, They were all helpful at the campus,called me etc. I was like Wow, this is great. A small... When I met with their financial aid advisor, they did not have an onsite person. it was done over Zoom. and I had to e sign all these documents. My financial Aid was right down to the cent of what they said my tuition was every term. I Found that to be pretty weird. Because I had went to school before and always ended up with a refund of quite a bit. Once I was enrolled. The help stopped. I couldnt get a hold of nobody. If I would email, they would not reply. If I would go there in person they were busy or would have to call someone and find out the answer. Once they get your money, they dont care about you. My last term started in August, one of the teachers was terrible!!! I would email her and she would take a month to reply. did not reply to emails until it was week of Surveys. I had what I thought was an A in the course, she never graded anything the same week. some things we had 3 attempts but I never knew if I needed a 2nd or 3rd try. I ended up with a C in that course, you had to have a C to pass the course. Had I known where my grade stood all term long, she was even at my local university and I could not meet with her or contact her. I tried to reach someone who was in control over those kids of complaints, I was hung up on. I did get a call back and when I called back and left him a message he never again returned my call, even though I would call and leave him messages. Then out of the blue today I get a email threatening to sue me saying I owe them $2500 and I missed these payments and they reported me to the credit agencies. I finished my program in October. They take all your financial aid, down to the penny and then do this to you. do research before you pick a school.

Started the degree program in 2015 only to find out that they changed the program in my last semester, meaning I had to take extra classes. For the CPT coding ! and 2 classes, the instructor didn't even teach us any of the coding concepts. She literally just assigned the work. After several complaints, finally in CPT 2, the regular coding teacher had to go back and teach the basics and rush the advanced portions. So, I got stuck working at the CFI building for LGH. Biggest wast of time ever. Instead of getting a full week of coding, I got stuck indexing charge sheets the entire. And after all of this, they had the nerve to try and pressure me into taking the RHIT examination. This was an exam that I knew I wasn't prepared for, and so, I didn't take it. Then career services, which was guaranteed to help us find a job after graduation, made me a half resume and I haven't heard from them since. Same for the HIM program director who was pretty good to me throughout my time there. As soon as she found I didn't take that exam, she dropped me like a hot potato. Do not attend this school. All they want is your money. It is fraud to the highest degree. You have been warned!!!

I feel that my degree was a joke. The University did not prepare me for my career. My professional clinical hours were bounced from site to site and I had very few required cases. There was only one instructor Mr. D. that taught me anything and kept me going to finish my degree. I would not pay a dime to go to this school. I kept going only because I had my GI bill. What a terrible choice to attend this institution. With the ways things have been going around campus, I wouldn't even classify ANU as a college or university. It's understaffed and those who are there don't have a clue on anything. Speaking of clueless staff, some of the instructors don't have a clue on the courses they teach.
