If you have above average discipline and work ethic, I cannot recommend EU highly enough for a low-cost, high-quality college education. I recommend testing out of as many courses as you can, which is a lot at EU. (N.B. - Read the negative reviews closely to separate objective criticism from emotionally driven smears!)

Proceed with caution. I was excited to attend Southern New Hampshire. I was supposed to graduate this year and instead my life was turned upside down and I was left with a balance over $8,000. During COVID my State which is Michigan was on a strict stay at home order. No matter what I say they refuse to listen and their appeals department keeps denying me. Up until then I was pleased with the school. Now I am disappointed and feel they don’t stand by their values. I work full time, and I am a single mom of two disabled children. I can’t believe after working so hard all these years my educationally journey would’ve turned out this way due to no fault of my own. If you want a University with understanding and compassion employees who aim for the success of their students please look elsewhere.

I am currently finishing up my last test at SNHU. I have read so many bad reviews here and it is totally not my experience. I used VA benefits which meant 0 out of pocket expenses for me. All the advisers are great but you half to communicate with them if you need help. The tutoring services are helpful but you half to communicate your specific needs to them. The courses do require independent research and lots of writing. I have had no issues and have found the whole experience to be quit pleasant. Most of the poor reviews center around financial issues which I cannot speak to because I used VA educational benefits, so I recommend you thoughtfully research that for yourself. I have been able to get certified as a teacher in Texas with the degree from SNHU contingent upon me completing my final term which just started this week. I landed a paid teaching position with an institution of higher learning based on my degree from SNHU. I have not used any career services but my son has and he found them helpful. I did find some instructors to be biased toward their own political opinions but I was never punished for not subscribing to those beliefs. Some of the courses do feel repetitive especially the Psychology classes towards the end. SNHU transferred most all of my credits from military training schools and other universities with no problem. I had an Associates degree coming into the program which helped me get a degree in two years. You can take more than two classes per term but I would recommend starting with just the two until you really get comfortable with the online format. I spend an average of between 5 and 10 hours a week working on assignments. Most of that time is dedicated to research and writing. Overall, I recommend this University but warn that it is not for those who require hand holding. This school is based on the students taking initiative, asking questions, and working independently. My word of advice is simply communication!! You half to be your own advocate and speak up when an issue comes up because in life issues always come up. Actively engage your instructors, advisors, tutors, and financial services rep. Good luck and God speed!! Final thought… I read a review that stated people of faith were not treated well. I disagree. I clearly state that I am a God fearing Christian in every introductory post for all my courses and I have never felt discriminated against. If you have opinions be prepared to make educated, researched, and well explained arguments on their behalf or just keep them to yourself. You can makes A’s with either tact.

SNHU is a great school. Out of every school that I looked into, it was the best when it came to time and my schedule. It is an accredited school, and there are challenges like any other college. The advisors are professional and usually respond to emails within two days ( the latest ). Not to mention I can take courses on campus any semester I want. The psychology program is awesome! I had a really hard time with the biology class, but my professor went out of his way to make sure I did not fail. All of my professors have been attentive to the subjects and have explained any questions that I have had. The financial aid office explains and walks every student through every step, the only problem I have had is getting a hold of them on busy days. I recommend making an appointment with the financial aid department in advance. I definitely feel inspired to finish my degree and pursue my master's at SNHU. I recommend SNHU to anyone who wants to go to a respected accredited university that will not leave you in debt that takes 10+ years to pay off. Going to SNHU is one of the best decisions I have made since graduating high school. I have potential employers who are wiling to meet with me once I get my degree. I worked for a lawyer for four years and she looked into SNHU and was extremely proud of where I was going to school. With that being said, SNHU definitely gets a 4 star from me.

I have honestly had a great experience while attending SNHU online. My academic advisor has kept open lines of communication with me. My instructors were always responsive and helpful when I needed them. When registering for class my advisor would register me about six classes in advance to ensure that they were covered. If an issue did arise I always knew in advance and had time to fix it so I am not sure why others were left with outstanding balances. The coursework is a lot of reading and completing... Any time that I did not do as well as I should in a class I knew it was because of me and my lack of effort. Not because of the coursework or the instructors. I think the instructors and advisors are very responsive and helpful. I am glad that I have chosen this school and feel bad for other who attended the school and didn't get the same experience. I would 100% recommend the school to someone who is a self starter and has the ability to be a self learner. The lines of communication works both ways I would just advise anyone interested in attending the school to ensure that they are communicating with the advisors and instructors in a timely manner because it really does make a difference in your experience.

I have been attending Ashford for two years. From the moment I spoke with Megan, who was basically my recruiter, I knew Ashford was for me. I am an over thinker. There was a mix up with paper work and instead of sending me a bill for a semester my financial aid specialist called me to tell me which form I had not returned. The classes are challenging. I am a mom of three busy kids and i work full time. I have a 3.96 GPA which I am very proud of. This school is fantastic. Hard work and effort are required. If you are lazy or do not like to write well thought out and researched papers you should not attend any college. Ashford is a great choice for someone who wants to succeed because every staff member at Ashford is there for your success!

I am currently attending Saint Leo for my BA in psychology. Here are the cons to the online programs: 1. Some of the instructors are great but others are HORRIBLE. I've had instructors who don't participate at all or teach the class anything. There is no recourse for a bad instructor. Advising administration does nothing. 2. You CANNOT change classes after the term has started. If you find you hate a course or instructor, you cannot drop the class and start another one, even if only one day has lapsed... Read More since the start of the term. Also, if you drop a class, it will likely really screw up your grants/scholarships so you're basically stuck. 3. Some advisors are great and others aren't. My first one was awesome but after she left, I was assigned to someone else. She completely ignored any questions I had. 4. VERY expensive, especially for the quality of the education! 5. A lot of the books used are made specifically for Saint Leo so they cannot be sold back. 6. Online students ARE NOT treated like members of the "Saint Leo Community". We're basically treated like the unwanted stepchildren of the school. For example, online students are not represented in the school yearbook. We have little representation within the school and requests frequently are ignored. 7. Class offerings is very limited. Of 8 psych classes I really wanted to take, only 2 were available online. This was very frustrating for me. 8. I cannot stress enough that some of the "teachers" are horrible!!! They are basically there to grade papers (to which they make grade deductions for no apparent reason) and do nothing else. I actually had a teacher (a doctor no less!) tell me to use Google or tutoring to answer my question rather than explain anything to me. 9. The financial aid office is horrible. If you call 6 times with the same question, you will get 6 different answers. All of them will be wrong. Do not take what they tell you as the gospel truth because they are basically clueless! I would not recommend this school to anyone who wants anything besides a piece of paper saying they graduated. If you actually care about your education, go somewhere else. I will not be attending Saint Leo for graduate school. I regret the tens of thousands I have spent with this school; however, since I am so far into my degree, it would be difficult to change schools at this point.
