The flexibility offered by the online program makes it easy to obtain an MBA. The level of education is good. If the tuition were a little lower, it would be an exceptional value.

Student Review Summary: Reviews of DeVry University are sharply divided, but they lean negative because low ratings often cite cost, weak instruction, and administrative confusion. Supporters praise the flexible online format, accelerated terms, responsive advisors, and professors with real-world experience, saying the school fit demanding work and family schedules and sometimes led to promotions, salary gains, or graduate school admission. Critics describe self-teaching, outdated materials, inconsistent faculty quality, and poor career support. Financial aid is the most repeated pain point: unexpected balances, changing information, transcript holds, nontransferable credits, and veterans’ benefits issues left some reviewers feeling misled, indebted, and underprepared for employment.

The best MBA programs in Illinois may feature the following concentrations:

MBA Graduate Jobs in Illinois

Illinois’ labor market offers valuable insights for prospective MBA students and graduates, highlighting both growth opportunities and areas of potential challenge. High-growth sectors such as education and health services (up 3.1%), government (up 2.7%), and other services (up 3.7%) present expanding opportunities for MBA professionals in leadership, policy, and strategy roles. Meanwhile, stable industries like construction and manufacturing offer roles in project management, operational leadership, and supply chain optimization.

However, challenges in sectors such as professional and business services (-2.0%) and financial activities (-2.0%) signal a demand for innovative leaders who can navigate uncertainty and drive organizational transformation. MBA Graduate Jobs in Chicago

MBA graduate jobs in Chicago are more plentiful than anywhere else in the Midwest. This is largely thanks to the city's large population in comparison to the nearby cities of Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit. Chicago is made up of three metropolitan areas, including Naperville, Arlington Heights, and the city itself. Business sector employment in the area is growing year-over-year.

The Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area, covering parts of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, had 4,798,500 jobs in May 2024, showing slight growth from last year. The education and health services sector grew by 2.9%, adding 22,200 jobs, mostly in healthcare and social assistance. This growth opens doors for MBA graduates interested in healthcare management or educational leadership. On the other hand, the professional and business services sector lost 30,400 jobs, a 3.6% decrease, even as it grew nationally. While this drop presents challenges, it also offers opportunities for MBA graduates to help businesses adapt and find new solutions.

Overall, Chicago’s economy provides a wide range of opportunities for MBA graduates who are ready to tackle challenges, drive innovation, and shape the future of businesses in the region.

As an online MBA student who also works full time, Suffolk University was the best option for me. The class times were accommodating and the faculty had great work experience that they used throughout the semesters in the classrooms to give real-life examples. The classrooms sizes were just right in order to have class participation that was valuable to my learning and there was diversity in ages and work experience in my classmates that allowed for fruitful conversation that added to the discussions.... Essentially the program is in an independent study format. Each class has webpage for homework submissions quiz/test taking. There are no lectures (typical content consists of PowerPoint presentations taken from the "extra content" of the reading materials) or interaction with your instructor other than by email. For someone who's used to a traditional setting, this format is really tough. The use of pre-recorded video lectures would be very helpful in bridging the gap from a traditional classroom... Half way done with the MBA program. Started July of 2016 and expect to graduate in the Fall of 2017. Will take me around a year and half to complete the whole program but you can definitely finish faster if you double up on classes instead of taking just one per semester. A great value for the money.

I'm currently enrolled into the MBA program working diligently on conquering my educational goal while working full time. I believe that anything worth having is worth working hard for and even harder to maintain. My education has always been a strong priority in my life but it has only been within the past 5 years that I have been able to afford to move the needle on my educational goals. This scholarship would be of tremendous help to me and it will not be one that I would squander. Thank you for... Read More

A great online school for those who are self-motivated and are very independent. A lot of independent study and papers that worked well for me. You get a mentor for each class. He or she grades everything and they are there to provide support when you have any questions. Faculty and staff are very responsive and very helpful. Courses and textbooks are very relevant to your job--as long as you study the textbooks. Proud to have my MBA with them and the two year journey was very rewarding.

This is actually a great university! Very affordable, challenging, and my professors have been very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I am an online student and a lot of this information is not applicable or is unknown.

The online program for the University of Scranton is very well put together. I have completed one full year and I have one year left to go. The courses are on an accelerated time schedule which has been very beneficial to me since I am working full time while completing the program. The courses are very informative, quick, and to the point without having excessive weeks of repetitive information. Once I complete my MBA with a specialization in Healthcare Management I would like to return to the University... Read More

Keiser University was the perfect choice for me because of the accelerated program and online classes. My admissions counselor was so helpful in advising which path to choose given my needs. Keiser allowed me to be a parent, work full time, and pursue my education.

I need a financial boost, but I didn't apply for any scholarships. I just work full-time as a CNA. I have always worked while attending college. I obtained my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology in 2011, but I just haven't gain a professional level position, yet. I will hopefully after the completion of this MBA online program. I am focused and ready to get my education on! You have to plan financially, physically, and mentally or it will be a terrible waste of time, money, and energy.
